Bergerac, in the heart of the Perigord and our ‘patch’ is extremely well-serviced by low-cost carriers from the UK. This is complemented by Carcassonne and Toulouse, which are also offer low-cost flights to the UK.
The major airports of Bordeaux and Toulouse are both within two hours of the Perigord, and offer long-haul flights to and from destinations such as the US and Far East.
The A89 Motorway that traverses France from Bordeaux to Lyon is now complete for the majority of sections, making the Alps accessible for the serious ski enthusiasts, whilst the Pyrenees to the south are excellent for shorter, more modest trips.
The A20 is now complete to Brive from Paris, providing excellent North – South access to the east of the Perigord, whilst the A10 is also a good motorway stretching from Bordeaux to Paris via Tours to the west.
The TGV goes to both Libourne and Brive, and it is now possible to put a car on the train at Brive for the north. A more local SNCF route joins Bordeaux to Sarlat via Libourne and Bergerac.
