The Directors, Stewart & Michelle Cook, have extensive experience renovating period properties both here in France and in the UK.
French projects have included:
A traditional French farmhouse
Uninhabitable at the time of purchase, renovated to become a luxury gite. The project included completely new installations of water, waste, central heating and electrics, along with a complete refurbishment of the interior. It has been performing as a highly successful gite since 2004.
A Wine Chai
Originally tractor garages, wine chai, chicken house and pig stys, this traditional French farm ‘dependence’ was converted to be a family home. Needless-to-say, we started with a blank canvas and all installations were new.
A Chateau
Uninhabited for 25 years, this chateau has been renovated to an extremely high standard to showcase the very best of local workmanship whilst working within the constraints of a partially-complete (be it rather out-of-date!) refurbishment. Our office forms part of the chateau, giving us the opportunity to show clients what can be achieved, how and by who – and the details of the artisans and suppliers from part of our ‘Little Black Book’.
A Coach House
An empty shell at the outset, we have project managed the renovation of the coach house on behalf of a UK client – working with the architect to draft plans and submit planning applications, right through to final delivery. Although we regrettably no longer have the time to do similar projects for clients, we are very happy to pass on the lessons learnt!
