Spend any time flicking through French Property sales magazines, or trawl listings on the internet, and you will be aware that the pricing of many properties seems at times wild. This is indeed often the case – and to understand why, one has to understand the different approach the different agencies and vendors use when setting asking prices.
Unlike many of our French estate agent counterparts, we are committed to a realistic and effective pricing policy with our vendors. Indeed, where we fail to reach an agreement with a vendor as to a reasonable price, we simply do not take the property on. It happens frequently – and is one of the reasons why our portfolio is limited. If there is a great property being listed by an agency and not us, there is often a good reason why!!
