As much thought and work has been invested in the grounds and exterior of this chateau as the interior. Set well back from the lane, the front garden is dominated by two large games fields before one enters the inner parking area. Terraces abound – some sunny, others shady, some offering a wonderful sense of openness space and views, others more intimate.
The swimming pool is exceptional – 12x6m in size, plus Roman steps carefully designed to offer a range of submerged seats in addition to graceful steps in and out of the pool. The infinity edge running down the length of the west side offers a dramatic view over the lake. A generous poolside terrace take up the others three sides, offering plenty of space for the 8 recliners and parasols, plus the raised decking area that too provides an extended view over pool and lake. The pool is heated by means of a heat pump, and has a saltwater filtration system – easy on the eyes, skin, hair and clothes – as well as being more buoyant.
The park of 20 acres also includes a wood with tracks for those who enjoy a shady stroll, and passes by the lake – a quiet and secluded spot that attracts some lovely wildlife including ducks, kingfishers, dragonflies and frogs.
