Gas Survey

Etat de l’installation de l’intérieur de gaz

The Gas Survey is carried out by means of a visual inspection, tests and measures of the gas installation (installations supplied by fixed piping from the source) to evaluate the risks which may compromise the security of the future occupant/s.

The Gas Survey only applies to installations of over 15 years old (proof by means of the original certificate of conformity must be provided). Any installation with a certificate of conformity of less than 3 years standing (e.g. in the case of a renovation) is exempted from the Gas Survey.

The diagnostic survey focuses on 4 key areas of the gas installation: the fixed piping, the connection of the gas appliances, the ventilation requirements and combustion tests. The report will contain the following conclusions: No anomaly reported, anomaly type A1 which requires future repair, anomaly type A2 which requires repair as soon as possible and anomaly type DGI which requires immediate cut in the supply and repair before return to service.

The current legislation was brought into force on the 1st November 2007 and the Gas Survey report is valid for a period of 3 years.
