The pretty village of Fongrave is a short walk from the Chateau. There is the all important village shop for your fresh bread and croissant in the morning as well as a post office and church. Attached to the shop is The Beau-Rivage, a bar/ restaurant serving delicious traditional French food. There is also a farm shop just opposite the Chateau. Each Thursday evening during the summer the village comes alive for the farmers market. The Chateau is close to Castelmoron where the regular Wednesday market is busy throughout the year. The larger town of Villeneuve sur Lot is easily accessible as it is just 50 minutes to Bergerac with the Dordogne River, its old town and Quay.
