The Coach House is set on the edge of the village of St Leon sur Vezere in the Perigord Noir. This village is ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. It is set in one of the loops of the Vezere River. A very short walk takes you into the centre of this very pretty village which has 2 good restaurants serving good regional food. There are 2 snack bars one of which is on the river-side. There is also a small grocery/depot de pain for the essentials and the all important fresh croissant in the morning.

The Coach House is ideally located to explore the Dordogne Area, there is even a canoe hire place in the village should you wish to explore it by canoe! The villages of Montignac (10kms), La Bugue (25kms) and Sarlat la Canada (35kms) are all a short drive away. The area is well known for its cuisine and there are an abundance of excellent restaurants catering for every budget. For those who wish to eat in, there are daily morning markets offering the freshest of produce and a chance to sample every day French living. The area has been described as the capital of world prehistory, and those interested are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and chateaux aplenty. There are the famous sites of Lascaux and other prehistoric caves all close by as well as many interesting Chateaux, gardens and museums. For the more active, there is canoeing, rafting, Adventure Tree Parks, horse riding and climbing to mention just a few.

Getting Here

The Coach House is located within easy access of 4 Airports. It is a 1hr 30 minutes drive from Bergerac airport, a 1hr 40 minute drive from Limoges Airport, a 2hr drive from Bordeaux Airport. It is also just a 1hr drive to Brive Airport which although small does have flights in from London City Airport. There is also a TGV station at Brive.

Ryanair flies into Bergerac, Limoges and Bordeaux from London Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham, and Bristol. Flybe flies into Bergerac from London Gatwick, Southampton,Exeter and Edinburgh. Twinjet also now flies from Bergerac to Paris.Easyjet flies into Bordeaux Airport.
